Job Goal:
The High School Registrar is an administrative professional whose duties include the maintenance of student records, creation of reports, general clerical work, assisting counselors with events, managing visitors coming through the office, and other duties as assigned.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains student records in accordance with the State's record retention requirements of the disposition of school records in accordance with the set schedule. This is to include organization and upkeep of the HHS Records Room.
  2. Maintains accurate records regarding new student information, as well as transfer students in and out of the district in a timely manner.
  3. Creates reports for State reporting through SIS program in conjunction with the State reporting tool.
  4. Creates reports for administration including failure, honor roll (to Bangor Daily News), report cards, and any other report asked of the registrar.
  5. Responsible for sending transcripts for current students as well as alumni.
  6. Assists students and families with critical paperwork including new student registrations, SSI, car insurance forms, records requests, etc.
  7. Maintains supplies. This is to include restocking and organizing. Maintains the office and its appearance to the public and students.
  8. Assists with the creation of the yearly budget, Program of Studies, Master Schedule, Student Registrations, school profile, as well as the miscellaneous composing and creating of Guidance Office needs.
  9. Prepares and sends weekly student enrollment update to RSU#87 and Hermon.
  10. Manages and maintains scholarship information for student access. In addition, create the scholarship script for Class Night and Graduation.
  11. Manages electronic calendars for the Guidance Office, to include scheduling, organizes and manages college visits to HHS, student appointments, Guidance Office events, etc.
  12. Maintains and keeps updated college, career, and student resource marketing materials available for students, as well as assisting with any visitors/events held during the school day.
  13. Organizes Parent Teacher Conferences sign up and schedule.
  14. Assists CTE coordinator with organization of data and communication regarding Bridge Academy and UTC as well as other duties as assigned. Enter grades that UTC provides quarterly.
  15. Assists counselors with the organization and administration of standardized testing.
  16. Organizes and maintains Community Service hours.
  17. Other duties as assigned by the counselors and administration.

Terms of Employment:
Ten-month work year with an additional 10 additional days at the end of the school year and 15 additional days prior to the start of the school year. Salary and work year to be established by the School Committee.

Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the School Committee's policy on Evaluation of the administrative assistant by the Director of Guidance.

Hermon Middle School Full Time Foreign Language Teacher for Grades 5-8
Hermon Middle School is seeking a dynamic foreign language teacher for its 5th through 8th grade students. Hermon Middle School serves roughly 320 students.Teaching responsibilities would include exploratory elective courses that include but are not limited to language and vocabulary acquisition as well as cultural immersion. In addition, successful candidate would also teach introductory course(s) for High School acceleration to 8th grade students.

Hermon High School Resource Room Special Education Teacher
The Hermon School Department is seeking a High School Resource Room Special Education Teacher who meets the following:

  • Holds current Maine State Criminal History Records Check
  • Holds Certification 282 - Teacher of Students with Disabilities (7-12)
  • Experience teaching High School Resource English
  • Develops effective schedules and lesson plans
  • Implements a variety of instructional approaches
  • Develops transition plans with students
  • Ability to case manage 20 - 30 students.
  • Ability to complete all required special education paperwork (Written Notices, Individual Education Plans) and meet required timelines.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, related service providers, and regular education teachers.
  • Collect, and report on academic data.
  • Ability to supervise and collaborate with assigned educational technicians.

Half Time (.5) Middle School Art Teacher - Hermon Middle School
2020-2021 School Year Anticipated Opening
Candidates must possess or be eligible for Maine Department of Education Teacher certification (endorsement 620 Art (K-12) or 020 General Elementary Endorsement (K-8) with ability to be certified) and Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) certification. Teacher will be responsible for teaching quarterly electives to grades 5-7 and single 8th grade semester course.
